Prep-for-storage checklist

This is a general checklist. Your owner's manual and engine maker's instructions come first.

Before you drop it off

• ☐ Confirm the space size, gate hours and access code
• ☐ Have proof of insurance and current registration ready if the lot asks
• ☐ Photograph the exterior and interior

RV

• ☐ Empty and flush the black and grey tanks
• ☐ Remove all food. Clean and prop open the fridge
• ☐ Winterize the water system if you'll see freezing temperatures (follow your manual)
• ☐ Disconnect or tend the batteries
• ☐ Cover the tires, close vents and blinds, and check for openings where rodents could get in

Boat

• ☐ Follow the engine maker's steps for fuel and engine storage
• ☐ Drain water where your manual says to
• ☐ Clean and dry the boat, and remove valuables and electronics
• ☐ Check trailer tires, lights and the hitch lock
• ☐ Cover and secure the boat

Every visit

• ☐ Check the tires, look for leaks and pests, and check the battery charge
